A simulation of the time-dependent flow around a sphere, as the sphere
falls from rest ( as seen from the
spheres reference frame)- An output from our FEM simulations using a
semi-lagrangian scheme. The
formation of the vortices in the wake is clear. The evolution of the
pressure field can be seen here
